Wasnt' feeling like going to bangkok the second time partly becos cant bear to leave everything to my aunt and also becos it wasnt worth buying anything there since the quality of their clothes are not durable.

Little did I know that, there were many more unexpected things that I would find in this trip. Been to places that I have never been to before. Discover more popular shopping areas such as Siam Square and Cha Tu Cha, which sell vast varieties of apparels etc. Doing things like I never done before eg. dancing and having dinner on the ship.

17.07.2008

5 am: Were in budget terminal waiting to check in our luggage when we saw Jiang JiaXi (our ex- tpjc senior) and some other familiar faces whom I suspected were also from tpjc.

8 am: Reached Bangkok airport. Just managed to meet up with the person-in-charge of the transfer to our hotel, when there was this group of aunties grumbling to her that they had a hard time searching for her because she was hiding at one corner and "suggested" to her to choose an eye-catching spot in future. We had our laugh when disappointment filled their faces to see that their hotel was not so grand as they expected. =P

12nn: Shopping at Platinum Mall, which was just located opposite our hotel. Much shorter distance than Eastin and better scenery and services such as an open "Southeast Asian" style setting just outside the reception and lift lobby.

7 pm: Massage at this spa college!

8 pm: Dinner at Chinatown. Heard that there was famous for its 24 hr roadside eateries.

6 am: Breakfast Buffet by the pool!! It was refreshing to have breakfast beside the pool. All of us were excited over it.

7 am: Half day free city tour to floating market, jewellery shop and 4-Faced Buddha. But somehow, it wasn't a floating market, more like a river tour where the tour guide explained to us the history behind the buildings at each side of the river (Imagine sitting inside a boat travelling down Clarke Quay, except there are more magnificant buildings and structures.) We were told that 17.07.08 - 18.07.08 were their public holiday day (Buddhist Day), so the temple that we visited were quite crowded. We didn't enter the temple becos we wanted to save that 50 baht. Lol.. But halfway through, we decided to escape to MBK, which I'm kind of disappointed cos there werent pretty much to buy there. Still the same as before. Lots of shops selling bags at 199 baht.Bought a 199 baht bag for my mum.

3 pm: Searching everywhere for authentic thai food but sad to say, we had a hard time searching for it in MBK/Tokyo. Only to settle our lunch in this Yum Yum shop that sells not- too- bad thai food. Gwen introduced me to eat mango salad, which I'm shocked to see mini crabs in the dish. It was crispy but dont dare to eat it again after 1 piece. Lol..

4pm: Shopping in Siam Square. Looks something like bugsis street but more spacious and some shops have pretty nice decor.

5pm: Despite our tight schedule, we managed to dip ourselves into jaccuzi and swimming pool for as short as 15 mins before we rushed to River City for our river cruise!!

8pm: Reached the same river that we travelled in the morning but this time, the ship that we boarded is much more magnificant! There are upper and lower deck on the ship and all tables are lighted with candles, with a band on each deck to entertain the diners on board. It was alot happening when the singer sang songs to our requests and interacted with the diners. It was quite talented of them too to sing songs from different nationalities. The singer even posed for us when we were trying to take a photo of her. Unfortunately, the weather on that night was bad, not only was the night sky starless, it was also shrouded with dark clouds. The band, beating their drums triumphantly. The dancers (making up by a group of Indians tourists) crowded the dance floor, were dancing heartily when the singer sang their Indian song. Before we knew, the rain came falling down and all of us who were outside the shelter raced to it. There was this very nice Thai couple, who offered to share with us their seats when poor us were looking lost when our seats were soaking in the rain. Not long after we finished our dessert, we proceeded to the lower deck where we found ourselves comfortably seated at the unoccupied seats at the back, listening to the lower deck singers and their band vying to make the lower deck as happening as the upper deck. And they succeeded! We joined the dance floor and even got acquainted with this little girl. Song after song, we danced together, though not yet gracefully. At least, it was not as clusmy as we expected, otherwise how would it catch the eyes of a korean guy who approached Maggie later. Lol... The night ended off in a little drama, when a drunk Iran tourist kept sprouting nonsense at us, kept asking us are we from korea or which country were we from etc. He even demanded our Thai driver to help him massage on our way back to hotel. He wasn't supposed to be in our car in the first place, but he insisted on getting a free ride. With the help of other Filipino passengers on board, we kept him far away from us in the car. Fortunately, our driver was tactful in handling these types of tourists.

19.07.2008 (Last Day)

10 am: We went to Cha Tu Cha straight away after our breakfast. Though we are only there for 3 hours, I wanted to go back there again!! It was great!! There were alot of things that you found it similar to bugis street but at a lower price and much more things that you cant get it in Singapore. So Gals.. It wasnt worth going to bangkok if you didnt shop at this place!! =)
