Day 1 of renovation
8 Sept was a day worth commemoration because it was......
1 month since the commencement of BeiJing Olypmic,
1 month and 1 day since Singapore's 43th year birthday had passed,
1st day of my house's renovation!!
Went back home after dinner to take a look at the condition of the flat.
It was a massive change!!!
As soon as I reached my house, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was dark and gloomy due to the removal of lights. There were still workers removing debris from the kitchen late at this hours (around 9 plus)
Wall and floor tiles of kitchen and toilet had all been hacked and removed.
The house was in a state beyond recognition, disfit for human living.
However, it will resurface with beautiful finish 1 month later. Cant wait for that day!!
It is good to have a close and helpful relative living near you and that is none other than my aunt & uncle who are willing to take in us in the interim. Hence, I find myself quite lucky to have such relatives compared to some rental applicants who have no family support. I understand the important of having one roof over one's head and the minimum personal space that each would like to have. Having to house a group of 10 ppl in a 5 room flat can actually be quite crowded, but exciting for the beginning. =)

Haa.. This year is a fruitful & lucky year for both my aunt and uncle.
Another dinner treat from them last night. We went to a teochew restaurant opposite bedok 85 and ordered a 8 dishes set menu including shark fins, coffee pork chop, brocolli with prawns, fried teochew noodles etc. I guess one of the best dishes is the dessert - yam paste. I like the thick yam paste with pumpkin and honey with a small cup of chinese tea to go along.
Been busy packing my stuffs these 2 days but still left lots more things to pack too such as my clothes, shoes, books etc. I realised I like the feeling of clearing unwanted stuffs, feel more organised and "spacious"!
